Attention 7th and 8th grade parents – your child may be eligible for a college scholarship. Indiana’s 21st Century Scholars Program offers income-eligible Hoosier students up to four years of paid tuition at an eligible Indiana college or university after they graduate from high school. In middle school and high school, Scholars are connected to programs and resources to help them plan, prepare, and pay for college. Once in college, Scholars receive support to complete their college degrees and connect to career opportunities. 7th and 8th grade Indiana students whose families meet income eligibility guidelines can apply to become a 21st Century Scholar. Applications must be received by June 30 of the student’s 8th grade year. Scholars must complete the Scholars Pledge and meet the expectations of the Scholar Success Program throughout high school and college. For more information please call 1.888.528.4719 or send an email to Scholars@che.in.gov.
We are excited for the opportunity our school-community has to be a part of Sunrise School Spirit this fall. WFIE, Channel 14, will be on our campus Friday, September 8, 2017, to feature our students and staff. The program is planned for the high school football field, barring severe/inclement weather, beginning at 6:00 am.
Everyone in our school-community is invited to take part in this program. Please join us as this is a wonderful opportunity to showcase our wonderful children and the special communities of East Gibson.
In order to assist those in need of transportation, Dr. Brewster has graciously developed a plan for the utilization of East Gibson school buses. For those needing a ride to Wood Memorial the following pick up locations have been established:
Francisco Elementary School
Barton Township Elementary School
The Oakland City Fire Station
Oakland City First Church of the Nazarene
City Hall, in Oakland City
The Nursing Home
Buses will pick up passengers at 5:15 am on Friday, September 8, 2017.
